Information
Short-term business statistics (STS) give information on a wide range of economic activities according to NKD 2007. (National Classification of Activities, 2007 version), identical at all levels to the NACE Rev.2 (Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community). In this database, data are presented in line with the Regulation (EU) No. 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 November 2019 on European business statistics, repealing 10 legal acts in the field of business statistics and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2020/1197.
The data on indices are generally presented in the following forms:
- Unadjusted indices
- Seasonally adjusted indices
- Working-day adjusted indices
- Trend indices
Business demography data and data on Building permits issued are presented in absolute figures.
Depending on the STS regulations, data are available as monthly, quarterly and annual data. This heading covers the indicators listed below in following sectors:

NKD 2007. classification (National Classification of Activities, 2007 version), identical at all levels to the NACE Rev.2 (Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community), is used for all the STS indicators. Constructions and works are classified according to the Classification of Types of Constructions – KVG.
The indicators in this sector cover economic activities listed in sections B to E of the NKD 2007. (B - Mining and quarrying, C - Manufacturing, D - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, E - Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities).
The indicators in this sector cover economic activities listed in section F of the NKD 2007. (Construction). Constructions and works are classified according to the Classification of Types of Constructions – KVG.
The indicators in this sector cover economic activities listed in section G of the NKD 2007. (division 47).
The indicators in this sector cover economic activities listed in the NKD 2007. sections: G Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (except division 47), H Transportation and storage (for reasons of confidentiality divisions H51 and H53 are not published, with exception for labour market indicators – persons employed, gross wages and salaries and hours worked), I Accommodation and food service activities, J Information and communication, L Real estate activities, M Professional, scientific and technical activities (except group 70.1 and divisions 72 and 75) and N Administrative and support service activities.
The indicators in this sector cover economic activities classified into sections A – S of the NKD 2007., except section O Public administration and defence; compulsory social security, and division S94 Activities of membership organisations.
The indicators in this sector cover economic activities listed in the NKD 2007. sections: B - Minning and quarrying (except class 07.21 and division 09), C - Manufacturing (except division 18, class 24.46, groups 25.4, 30.1, 30.3, 30.4 and division 33) and D - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
When indices are used in this STS database, data are presented on the fixed base year 2021 = 100, in line with the Regulation (EU) No. 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 November 2019 on European business statistics, repealing 10 legal acts in the field of business statistics and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2020/1197.
Data on the previous base year 2015 = 100 are available in the STS database, but these time series are not updated anymore after the change to the new base year with the 2024 data. Time series with the previous base year cover the period until the end of 2023.
The Calendar of Statistical Data Issues provides a precise overview of all the publications due to be released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics for the entire statistical year, one year in advance. Calendar is available on the website of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
